New to Season 10: Quest 4 Everything!

  • Summary: The Quest 4 Everything (Q4E) datapack is essentially a glorified advancement system that rewards participating players with advancements for collecting every single item available in Minecraft 1.21

  • Opt In/Out: You are opted out by default. When opted out, you will not gain any advancements for obtaining items and no Q4E advancements will show at all. When opted in, you will be able to see the advancements and gain them through getting the items/blocks.

    • If you've opted in and would like to opt out that is possible, but it will reset your advancements and reset your score. You can always re-opt in whenever and start again.

  • Participating players will gain 1 advancement for each unique block and item they obtain.

  • Players' scores will be visible in the list (aka TAB) menu.

  • Trophies will be handed out upon completion of all advancements in a section (Ex: getting all the wood items). While in-game chat notifications for each individual advancements will be turned off, a serverwide chat message will be displayed when completing a chapter.

  • The ‘Take Item’ setting will be disabled. The item will not be taken away 

  • Dragon Egg achievement: To obtain the dragon egg advancement, players will need to hold the dragon egg. Once Mindcrackers defeat the dragon, Mods/Admins will ensure the opportunity for each Patron to hold the dragon egg.

  • Vanilla Advancements will still be active.

Also New to Season 10: Simple Voice Chat!

A simple and easy to use plugin that enables proximity voice chat on the server. Note: The plugin is not mandatory. If you do not wish to voice chat on the server, do not install the plugin.

Installation Tutorial:

Mindcrack Build Zone (MBZ) has been disabled - A central 4x4 chunk area is reserved for Mindcrackers and VIPs only in the overworld. This is the Mindcrack Build Zone. Patrons may visit the Mindcrack Build Zone, but are not able to interact with anything. This means they can’t break or place blocks, open chests, etc. This is for the protection of the Mindcrackers. There is no MBZ in the nether.

The area outside of the Mindcrack Build Zone is called The Wild. Patrons can claim land to protect their base, as well as allow players they permit to enter and interact with their items.

The overworld border is set to ±15,000 blocks. The nether border is set to ±1,875. The border size may increase later on in the season. The END will be disabled at launch.

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I whitelist myself?

  • Ensure your Patreon pledge is $25/month or more at https://www.patreon.com/mindcrack

  • Connect your Patreon account with your Discord account under https://www.patreon.com/settings/profile

  • Join the Mindcrack Community Discord server at https://discord.gg/mindcrack

  • If your accounts are connected correctly, you should have access to the #community-server-whitelist and #mindcrack-community-server  channels in Discord.

  • Follow the pinned instructions in #community-server-whitelist to get whitelisted. 

  • The server IP is also pinned in that channel.

  • Use #mindcrack-community-server to chat with other Patrons about everything related to the server.

Can I log on to the server using Bedrock Edition Minecraft?

  • Yes! You will still need a Java edition minecraft account.

  • Once your java account is whitelisted (see above), connect your Java and Bedrock accounts together here: https://link.geysermc.org/

  • The IP and Port information can be found in the pinned messages of the #community-server-whitelist channel in the Discord.

What is the money used for?

  • Money raised from Patreon, Twitch, YouTube, Sponsorships, etc is used to fund the charity Mindcrack Marathon. This includes, flights, hotels, supplies, studio rentals, production team and any other expenses.

Which Mindcrackers/VIPs will play on the server?

  • All Mindcrackers/VIPs have been invited to play on the server. Some may play more than others. It’s up to them to decide how much they would like to play and their schedule.

Will the Mindcrackers/VIPs stream or record from the server like previous seasons?

  • Yes! Mindcrackers/VIPs will live stream and record videos. 



Are there restrictions when Mindcrackers/VIPs are recording/streaming?

For instance, will a barrier wall be placed up to prevent Patrons from entering the radius to not interfere?

  • Nope! Mindcrackers/VIPs can hide Patrons, disable chat and disguise themselves so they can stream/record distraction free.

I’m a streamer/YouTuber. Am I allowed to stream/record from the Mindcrack server?

  • Yes! Patrons are allowed to stream and record. You may use “Mindcrack” in the title but cannot use the Mindcrack logo.

Am I able to share a base with a Mindcracker?

  • Yes! If you and a Mindcracker/VIP would like to share a base, you can claim an area and give them permission to play with you.

Can Patrons interact with bases/items in the Mindcrack Build Zone?

  • Patrons can visit but cannot interact with anything in the Mindcrack Build Zone.

Can I share my base with another Patron?

  • Yes! Once you claim your land, you are able to permit others to share your land however you set your permissions. Use /trust <player> to allow someone to interact with items within your claim.

How often will the server be offline?

  • We strive to keep the server online 24/7, but there will be planned and unplanned downtime periodically

    • Planned downtime will be used to update Minecraft versions, plugins, configurations, etc.

    • We will try to minimize these to the best of our abilities and communicate them via Discord (discord.gg/mindcrack) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/MindcrackLP)

    • Note: There may be additional restarts/downtime during the first few weeks as we adjust the server configurations

Is there a world map to view?
Is there a resource/mining world?

  • No and no plans for one.

 

Can I use client-side mods/resource packs?

  • "Quality of life" mods/resource packs are allowed (i.e. mini map, inventory tweaks, etc)

  • Please review the Rules section below for more details about mods/resource packs you can and cannot use

Are there server moderators? 

  • There are moderators to help with questions and issues.

  • Contact a Moderator by mentioning @Server Mod in the #mindcrack-community-server discord channel. Please do not abuse this feature.

Can I become a server moderator?

  • There is currently no application process, but there may be in the future.

Why is there a queue to join the server? Do Mindcrackers/VIPs have priority in the queue?

  • The queue has been removed.

  • We may need to reimplement it for the server reset but TBD.

  • 60 Patrons can be online at the same time to minimize the strain on the server.

  • This number may change depending on how the server performs. 

  • Mindcrackers and VIPs have reserved slots to skip the queue.

Are players who AFK for long periods of time kicked?

  • Players will no longer get kicked, the AFK Timer has been removed.

  • We may need to reimplement it for the server reset but that is still to be determined.

Can Patrons visit The End?

  • Yes! Patrons have a separate End dimension from the Mindcracks/VIPs

  • Mods will take ownership of the Dragon Egg in order to make it available to the entire playerbase.

  • The Patreon End is 20k in diameter whereas the Mindcrack end is 10k in diameter.

If I cancel my Patreon pledge, when will I lose server access? 

  • If you cancel your pledge, or lower it to less than $25/month, your Patreon role will be removed immediately from the #mindcrack-server Discord channel and server access will be revoked.

  • This is due to the Patreon's Discord integration. We're looking into improving this, but there is no ETA.

  • If you would like to maximize your time on the server, we recommend waiting to update your pledge near the end of the month.

Can I gift a Patreon pledge to someone or give them my server slot?

  • Not at this time.

Will there be regular server-wide events on the server?

  • Yes, we have created an Events Team that will plan, build, and host server-wide events.

  • The Events team members will have access to other gamemodes to ease the planning and building of future events.

  • Contact a moderator for more information on how to join the Events team.

Can I whitelist a second account and use it as a camera?

  • For the time being, only Friends & Mindcrackers are allowed to have a 2nd account whitelisted.

  • For Patrons, we suggest using a replay mod.

What plugins are on this server?

  • Grief Prevention

    • Land claims using diamond hoe.

    • Select two corners. Together, they define the boundaries of the claim.

    • The upper Y is ignored.

    • Claims extend from the lowest Y minus 5 up to the sky.

    • Users are allowed to claim 256 blocks at the start.

    • Players get an additional 32 blocks/hour played.

    • Maximum blocks: 2048. 

    • This amount may be increased in the future.

  • Change your PvP status using /pvp <toggle, on, off, status>

    • Now persistent through relogs.

  • Language filter for chat/signs

  • /stuck to get unstuck.

  • Ticket Plugin

    • /ticket create <Message> : create a ticket

    • /ticket update <Index> <Message> : update a ticket

    • /ticket close <Index>: close the ticket

  • Disguise Plugin

    • Mindcrackers can disguise themselves as a random player

    • Mindcrackers can hide all Patrons from their view.

  • Sleep Plugin

    • 30% players sleep to skip the night

    • Weather clears after sleep

  • ChatItem

    • Display Items in chat using either [i] or {item}.

    • Ex: "I have an awesome {item} in my hands."

Patron Level Commands

  • /abandonclaim - Deletes the claim you're standing in.

  • /claimexplosions - Toggles if explosions are allowed in the claim.

  • /trust <player> - Gives another player permission to edit in your claim.

  • /untrust <player> - Revokes any permissions granted to a player in your claim.

  • /untrust all - Removes all permissions for all players in your claim.

  • /accesstrust <player> - Gives a player permission to use your buttons, levers, and beds

  • /containertrust <player> - Gives a player permission to use your buttons, levers, beds, crafting gear, containers, and animals.

  • /trustlist - Lists the permissions for the claim you're standing in.

  • /abandonallclaims - Deletes all of your claims.

  • /unclaim - Removes claim currently standing on 

  • /stuck - Teleports you to a nearby block. 

  • /pvp <toggle, on, off, status> - Updates your PvP status

  • /minecraft:tell <player> <message> - Direct message other players on the server (do not spam other players)

Gameplay Information

  • [DISABLED]Temporary Launch Guidelines

    • To give all players a chance to explore some of the interesting exploration features of Minecraft we encourage the players to limit their looting. Don't go around looting all the bastions, ancient cities, desert temples and shipwrecks you can find in the first few days on the server. After a while these restrictions will be lifted but for the start of the server try to limit yourself to only looting:

      • 1 nether bastion

      • 2 elytras from end cities

      • 2 deep dark ancient cities

    • Due to the limited number of them, the first trim of each type must be donated to PatronVille to be copied and stored. Contact a server moderator for more information.

    • Generated Structures:

    • Armor Trims

  • General guidelines

    • Avoid big claims near spawn or PatronVille (PV).

    • Avoid big farms near spawn or PatronVille (PV).

    • Avoid building within 100 blocks of other players unless all parties agree to.

    • Don't use other players' farms (mob, food, resources) unless it's designated for community use or you have explicit permission from the owner.

    • You need a diamond hoe to claim land.

    • Time played on the server gives you more blocks for your claim.

  • Patrons have access to a separate end dimension from the Mindcrackers/VIPs

  • Custom dragon drops

    • 30% chance to drop elytra

    • 70% chance to drop 2 shulker shells

    • Items will be added to your inventory directly

    • If you don't have space, they will be dropped on the ground

  • Wither spawn sound limited to 90 block range

  • Ender pearls can be used in protected areas

  • Using /stuck teleports you to the highest, nearby block.

  • There is no /home command

  • Patreon can add markers to the server map (https://mindcrackmap.com/)

    • The process to add markers is still being reviewed.

    • More information will be provided when available.

 

Rules/Code of Conduct

  1. Be respectful to others in both text and voice channels.

  2. No hateful, sexist, racist, xenophobic, etc. builds or language is allowed.

  3. Patrons are asked to use English only to chat.

  4. Do not harass Mindcrackers, VIPs, Devs, Moderators, or other Patrons.

  5. No unwanted, indirect PvP (suffocating, lava, drowning, fire)

  6. Cheating is not allowed.

  7. "Quality of life" mods/resource packs are allowed (map mods, inventory tweaks, mouse tweaks, etc)

  8. Mods/resource packs that give you an unfair advantage are strictly prohibited (x-ray, flying, speed, etc)

    • If you have a question about a particular mod/resource pack, please contact @Server Mod in the #mindcrack-community-server channel

  9. Evading AFK restrictions is not allowed.

  10. Do not advertise on the server.

  11. You are allowed to stream and record.

  12. You are allowed to use "Mindcrack" in your stream/video title but cannot use the logo.

  13. Server Moderators will institute a 3 strike warning policy where after 3 warnings, punitive actions will be taken.

  14. Server Moderators reserve the right to take action without warning if deemed necessary.

  15. Patrons can appeal a strike/ban by contacting @Server Mod in the #mindcrack-community-server  channel

    • You will be given access to a private Discord channel where you can plead your case

  16. Banned Patrons will not receive a refund.

  17. Communication

    • Discord is our primary means of communication.

    • Server Moderators may attempt to contact you via direct message to resolve disputes. Please check discord regularly.

    • Feel free to contact Server Moderators for any questions or inquiries via Discord.

    • For immediate attention, use @Server Mod in the #mindcrack-community-server channel but DO NOT ABUSE THIS.

    • Additionally, we occasionally post information about server updates in the #mindcrack-community-server channel. Check the pins for previous updates.
